The Michigan Historical Collectibles Show gets a new home and new dates for 2008 & 2009. We are moving to a new location for our summer 2008 show and all shows to follow in Madison Heights Michigan (a Northern Metro-Detroit suburb. The show will be at Madison Place Hall on 13 Mile Road near the I-75 Freeway. This beautiful new hall with easy access, spacious parking and excellent lighting will allow us to have all the dealers in one room, militaria, toy soldiers and more to come. The expanded space will also allow us to enlarge the activities area to include Living History groups, wargaming, figure painting, seminars, military vehicle displays and much more. The 2009 show (our 20th) will be a two day extravaganza with many surprises and additions. The dates for the 2009 show will be January 24 & 25 2008
Short Takes: Look for Black Hawk Toy Soldier to announce the fourth series of 1/32 scale figures centering on the American Civil War. This series will approach the period from the civilian standpoint and will include figures reminiscent of the movie "Gone with the Wind" and much more. 2009 will see Series 5 "Gangsters" a look at the gangsters and mobsters of the American prohibition era including Bonnie & Clyde in their Ford V8.
MIG Productions of Spain. The leader in products for weathering models with their extensive line of pigments, oils and washes is working with Vallejo Acrylic Paints to develop a range of paints for armor models featuring true military colors not yet available on the market. More details as available.
It looks like Shenandoah Miniatures which has been dormant for the last several years will be back on the scene later this year with all new 54mm white metal kits. Paul tells us he is currently working on several dismounted confederate cavalry and some union figures too.
Old Northwest Trading Company will be reveling their next series which will be centered around Civil War camp life at the Chicago Toy Soldier show this September. The first sets are to features a Civil War photographer , a tented cabin and a group of soldiers posing for the camera.
