From the BMC Toys CLASSIC TOY SOLDIER COLLECTOR SERIES, the tank that transformed from WW2 ally to Cold War foe. The WW2 SOVIET T-34 TANK features lots of authentic detail and 2 different turrets. Each turret rotates, has elevating barrel, and printed yellow star emblem of the USSR. The smaller turret represents the T-34/76C model from 1942 with 76.2mm barrel. The larger turret is modeled after the T-34-85 with 85mm barrel and features an opening hatch. Tank is made from stiff olive-green color ABS plastic, measures 3.25 wide x 3.1 inches tall x 6.5 long (9 including long barrel) and is approximately 1:40 scale. The T-34 was first deployed in WW2 when the Soviet Union was part of the Allied war effort against Germany and Japan, but later was used against the former Allies during the Cold War era in a wide range of conflicts by many different countries aligned with the Soviet Union, including by North Korea during the Korean War. These tanks were initially offered to hobby collectors by Classic Toy Soldiers Company around 1999. Classic Toy Soldiers Co. worked with BMC Toys to make them available to today's youngsters. BMC Toys was founded by Bill McMaster in 1991 and specializes in producing historically accurate plastic army men figures and playsets in the classic realistic style of the 1950s and 1960s. These vehicles are a perfect addition for playsets and school project dioramas of many historical conflicts of the 20th century including World War II, the Korean War and other Cold War engagements.
