The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer, 8 gunners and 2 field gun models.  The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. American gun barrels are often cast from iron rather than bronze due to local availability of raw materials.  Iron guns are heavier than bronze and thus the American gun carriages are bigger than the British gun carriages.  The design is the Gribeauval bracket trail carriage. We have provided for a howitzer option for the guns. This is an extra item in the set. The gunners are wearing the unlaced coatee with the Tombstone shako.  The gunner holding the rammer has a coil of ropes on a belt (detachable), which is a unique feature of US Artillery.
