| The Royal Horse Artillery is formed in 1793 and is an elite corps of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars. The gunners wear the hussars’ braided jackets (called a dolman) and the elegant Tarleton helmets. All the men ride horses and are required to move at cavalry paces. |
