| These British Dragoon Guards cavalrymen wear sun helmets which are wound around with fabric, a "pugri" for protection against sword cuts and against the sun while serving in India, the Northwest Frontier, Afghanistan and in some regiments, on campaign in Africa. Different regiments wound their purges in different patterns and colors, which helped identify them in combat. Set includes 5 mounted figures in 5 pose variations with swords and carbines, 5 horses, 5 saddles and 5 carbine holsters. The poses are: one officer with twisted cord epaulets, two troopers charging standing on their stirrups and two troopers riding in normal posture. Assembly required on these highly detailed models, with 5 sets of sword-action arms and 5 of carbine-action arms plus pistol-action arms. This is to allow the set to be assembled as a unit in sword-action or in carbine action. |
